A paradox is only the truth standing on its head to attract attention. — G. K. Chesterton
Paradox evokes larger perspective thinking in me. Memorial Day was once observed on the last day of May. Now it is celebrated the last Monday in May, creating a holiday weekend. The local ceremony to honor veterans was held on Sunday in the park.
Is this a deterioration of time set aside? Or is this three punctuation points in my thoughts to pause and remember service to a nation?
Less honor? More memory? A different reverence?
